Lord Huron - When The Night Is Over

My one and only love
I've been lonely long enough
Will I find you when the night is over?
Tell me where did you go?
I've been searching high and low
I have only 'til the night is over
In every window, I pass
Your reflection in the glass
Makes me wonder if my mind is going
Shadows shifting in the rain
Slowly driving me insane
By the stars above, I know we were in love
I have only 'til the night is over
I feel the weather change
I hear the river say your name
I watch the birds fly by
I see an emerald in the sky
Now how the trail has gone cold
I don't know where else to go
And my time, I fear, is nearly over
When the ocean drinks the sky
And the city winks its eye
When the night is done, you'll vanish in the sun
Will I hold you when the night is over?
Am I lost inside my mind?
There's an emerald in the sky
I hear the river say your name
By the stars above, I know we were in love
I hear the river say your name
I have only 'til the night is over

Risk by Metric

So you got away
Something brought you back
To the kid that you were
For a couple days
Everything you lacked
You possessed
It was yours
Started slow
Started late
Started strong
Then we lost faith
Started slow
Started to lose control
The more we accelerate
With your hollow eyes
You keep coming back
It begins to transform
Can you spend the night?
Can you be the raft
In the eye of the storm?
Started slow
Started late
Started strong
Then we lost faith
Started slow
Started to lose control
The more we accelerate
The more we accelerate
Can I send this kiss right to you now?
'Cause the risk belongs with you somehow
Can I return this kiss that you gave?
Already know it's borrowed anyway
Was the risk I sent to you received?
All the words we say to be believed?
I'm already over the thrill of pursuit
Where can I take the risk I took with you?
Send this kiss to someone new?
So you're beaten up
But you bounce back
It's all part of the pull
And the story runs
Like a soundtrack
We repeat 'til we're full
Started slow
Started late
Started strong
Then we lost faith
Started slow
Started to lose control
The more we accelerate
The more we accelerate
Can I send this kiss right to you now?
'Cause the risk belongs with you somehow
Can I return this kiss that you gave?
Already know it's borrowed anyway
Was the risk I sent to you received?
All the words we say to be believed?
I'm already over the thrill of pursuit
Where can I take the risk I took with you?
Send this kiss to someone new?
So there's no way to hide
Find some daylight
There's another way to leave the Garden of Eden
And I'm inclined to try
Find some daylight
Open my eyes
There's another way to leave the Garden of Eden
And I'm inclined to try

Annayum Rasoolum (2013)

What you get is Annayum Rasoolum when the story's this cliched and the director tries too hard to narrate the story in the manner that it's been narrated - with minimal dialogue and haunting music that follows you to the edge of s****. Fahadh Fasil is brilliant as usual, while Andreah Jeremiah is annoying as fuck, but looks nice as hell :) in her annoying pink sarees and floppy hair. Fahadh plays his characters to the tee with the stupid, vacant eyes, yet shows intelligence for comedy. We get it - Anna and Rasool want to be together but the series of random incidents won't let that happen. Then again, why should it? They really have no direct connection to their lives, and yet they do. Okay. We'll take it. Thank God for the BGM. Anna is painfully quiet, tolerating all that she has to endure. Not a word. *facepalm*. The parallel narration for the Ashley-Lily story was unnecessary. Who even cares :/. Why/how does his story have any say in A/R? Shane Nigam is brilliant as usual. (How can he slap?) Soubin Shahir is talent waiting to explode.

Maheshinte Prathikaram is another work of art. So is Njan Prakashan, although the latter is annoyingly commercial. Fahadh knows how to play the part and make himself look good, from beta male to ready-to-knock-your-teeth-out fighter. He sucks at the romantic scenes (unless you count the ones in Annayum Rasoolum), and shows support for his religion that is annoyingly similar to Kamal. We could honestly do with less of that.

1. Soubin Shahir
2. Shane Nigam
3. Fahadh Faasil

In that order.

Kando Kando is hauntingly beautiful. Sung by Andreah and played to show that she's falling for Rasool. Ente paavam kinaavil.. speaks of the imminent end to this story.

This movie and this song stick with you if you fall for it. Understand the formula at play here and maybe you can hold off.
